Nintendo DS Lite sales June 2006
The Nintendo DS Lite sales were smoking in its first month of sales in America. On June 11, in the year of our Lord 2006 this machine with a smaller profile, and more brilliant display clocked in nearly 600,000 in sales (according to the NPD Group). That 600K number represents more than one third of all the sales of industry systems in the month. That number is also almost double that of any other game device. One of the factors that makes that number so impressive is it is for almost half a month compared to other systems sales for a full month.
As far as games go, New Super Mario Bros.® continued to dominate with 450,000 in the same month in America. This game remained in the top spot for the second month in a row. Brain Age™: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day and Big Brain Academy™ combined for sales just under 350,000. Ten months after its release the Nintendogs games sold for over 100,000. {07/14/2006}
